Von David Stertzbach
Von D. Stertzbach is a visionary executive, transformation leader, and accomplished at successfully developing and executing strategies involving Human Resource Solutions, labor turnarounds, event labor management, business improvements, controlled growth, on site management and labor consultation of companies of all verticals and sizes.
Von Stertzbach started in the staffing industry on the ground floor as a temporary in many different capacities before acting as a part time production staffing manager. Being the son of current President/ CEO Vaughn Stertzbach of EmpHire Staffing, Von learned the business from the inside out during the off seasons of his Professional Baseball Career with the Anaheim Angels (2003-2008) and concluding his baseball career with the Brother Elephants in the Taiwan Professional Baseball League.
Once joining the EmpHire Team full time in 2008, Von started as a Staffing Assistant to develop operationally inside the offices in Dade and Broward. Within the first year, Von Stertzbach was promoted to Account Executive. After consistent growth and building a tremendous customer base, Von Stertzbach was promoted to Area Vice President in 2011 and worked under Vaughn Stertzbach and Sylvia Lucas Vice President of Operations (1999-2019). In December of 2014 Von was named Sr. Vice President.
Von Stertzbach is on the Board of Directors of the Florida Staffing Association as well as an active member of the American Staffing Association. Von has spoken at multiple Hiring Events at local Career Source Centers, High Schools and Colleges to educate the current and future workforce.
Von volunteers his times to helping kids and coaches who love the game of baseball. He has hosted multiple free clinics, spent time with the Challenger League and site on the Board of Directors of Little Leagues.
Von Stertzbach attended the University of Central Florida 2000-2003 where he majored in Business Administration and played baseball for the Knights. Von Stertzbach was Drafted in the 9th round 270th overall in the 2003 MLB Amateur Baseball Draft. After Von finished his professional baseball career, he coached at American Heritage (Plantation Fl,)2008-2010 and Marjory Stoneman Douglas (Parkland FL,) from 2011-2016. In 2016 Von was named Assistant Coach of the Year by the National High School Baseball Coaches and was part of the 2016 National Championship team as the Pitching / Bench Coach at Stoneman Douglas.
A long-time resident of Broward County Florida Von and his wife Jackie have been married since 2005 and have two boys Tyler and Mason. Von currently coaches both of his boy’s baseball teams. When the Stertzbach’s are not on a sports field, Von and Jackie enjoy entertaining at their home, spending time with close family and friends or being on the water fishing or boating.
